“The budget 2021 did not emphasize much on the real estate sector apart from the tax holiday which has been extended in the category of Affordable Housing. Indirectly, the budget will be contributing support to the segment through the boost to infrastructure projects by setting up a 20000 crore DFI which will contribute to better lifestyle and overall appreciation of the areas. The commercial real estate would gain more from it as the TDS has been exempted from REITs to boost it in the forthcoming days and mobilise more funds to strengthen the commercial segment. The exemption of NRI’s from double taxation will leave more purchasing power in their hands and will indirectly lead to increased investments from them.”
